At Just Dance our focus is on high quality training for the young dancer. We pride ourselves in offering top-notch dance classes and instruction. We want our dancers to feel comfortable and confident in the dance studio and have that confidence flow into their lives. We focus on technique and each individual child becoming the best they can be. We are a recreational, performance-based school that instills proper techniques that will set up dancers for success in all of their endeavors.
My name is Rebecca Walker Reed or “Miss Becca” as my students and parents know me and I’m the owner/director of Just Dance located in the Belle View Shopping Center in Alexandria, VA.
We are a recreational dance studio that focuses on serious training for the young dancer. Our classes are for dancers ages 3-13 years old in the genres of ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, pointe, and musical theatre. I started dancing at age 3 and haven’t stopped since! I danced and performed through out elementary school, high school, and college. I participated at my dance studio, Dancensations, from age 3-19 years old. I performed in musical theatre productions, varsity cheer at West Potomac, jazz dance clubs at JMU, classes in Modern, Ballet, folk dance and African Dance, and the Dukettes, the official dance team of James Madison University. I was awarded All American Dancer in 2009. After graduating James Madison University with a degree in Communication, I decided to finally pursue teaching dance full time. I started teaching dance at age 15 in local summer camps where we offered Acro, cheer, and dance camps to children. I continued teaching every summer in high school and college.
As an adult I have furthered my study in teaching dance through teacher certification programs such as Dance Masters of America Teacher training school and the Cecchetti Method of ballet. I completed two certification’s in the summer of 2023 at Dance Teacher University with the University of Nevada – Las Vegas and Ducon in Gaithersburg, MD.
My goal is to provide the best quality instruction for my students to learn the most and become the best dancer they can be in a positive and fun environment.
